School's back!!!
It's now February 12th, time is flying by and soon it will be Easter. The girls are settled at school and getting to know their teacher's. Em was a bit timid (understandable with having her first male teacher), Sarah-Jane was absolutely fine and just didn't have a care. Aimee was a lot more timid, she only had 6mths last year so it was like her first day at school again. She was extremely clingy. They all have nice teachers and apart from Emily the teachers are new to the school.
I am enjoying the break, even if it was only 2 days then Waitangi Day. We took the girls and Margaret to Ferrymead. It started off with Aimee grizzling and crying, which frustrated us to heck! Otherwise we had a nice day out. I think the model trains were my favourite. It was amazing how they make up the towns etc. I took some photo's of course.
There were a couple of fun mirrors that we had a few laughs with. Emily goes on and on about having a cell phone so I couldn't resist the phone booth! The next one is of one of the villages with the model trains. I took a few photo's of the planes to send to Dad as he is into them. The notice caught my attention because our government are 'encouraging' women to go out and work at the same time as going on about the need for stronger family ties. It reads "This council is of the opinion that in all cases where men and women are engaged in the same employment of Government or private individuals, equal wage should be paid for equal work" Christina Henderson, 1902. The girls got to help the tram driver change the direction of the tram.
Terry has been busy staining our archatraves on our lounge sliding door. We think the rimu stain looks great against the colour (spanish white) of the alluminium.
He's going to stain the bedroom windows and we're painting the rest. We've discovered our roof leaks in our bedroom. We've had some really heavy rain and it's obviously been too much. Not sure what we're going to do with that.
I have finally sent in my 9th assignment and am over half way. I'm also making a banner for the Cancer fundraising event that is held at QE11. A team of about 10 take turns to run/walk around the track, this is over 24 hrs. At least 1 member has to be on the track at all times. Terry is a part of one out of three of our church teams. It's going to be fun I think. I'm hoping to be out there at some point even though I'm not going on the track.
We are getting to know Aimee's best mate's family, Charlotte is in the same class as Aimee and the two of them are very cute together. Racheal is a lovely woman with a lot in common with me. Her husband Deon is quiet but is also very nice (even if he does support his home country-South Africa-in sports!).
Well I better go and do something constructive and I'm sure your getting a bit tired of reading this entry! Hope everyone is well, blessings to you all.
